I think I'm going to start using T-Touch on Buddy to see if it can help him calm down in the kennel area. It will take a while to get him used to it, but he gets so reactive in K9 that he could really use something soothing. It's worth a shot. read more

I walked Professor Plum the other day, and it was such a treat to take out a dog who didn't think he was competing in the Iditarod. Just 6 months old, with a loose puppy energy and lots of kisses, he loved to come up and sit by me for petting and ear rubs. He will be adopted quickly, I know. He's too good of a dog to be with us long. read more

If the shelter isn't too busy on Saturday, I might try to take Buddy on a quick outing to gauge his public reactivity to other dogs. His previous adopters said that he was fine with other dogs in public, but he's been reactive to quite a few dogs at the shelter. Will the real Buddy please stand up? read more

I'm glad that our volunteer meeting on Sunday will be on T-touch. We've learned about it before, but that was several years ago, and I know I've lost the basics of the technique. It'll be nice to have a refresher. Oh, and the bake-off that will be taking place at the meeting couldn't be an added incentive for people to show up. No, not possible. read more
