Considering a 2nd dog

We fostered Chuckles, a shelter dog, just for a weekend a couple weeks ago, and Ozzie just loved the company. We decided not to long-term foster Chuckles though, due to a couple reasons. With our basement unusable due to flooding issues, the dogs really only had the living room & kitchen to play in, and that's just not a big enough space for 2 large dogs to horse & play. Try Volunteering and Fostering - it's fun & re…

I recently began volunteering at Stray Rescue of St Louis's 18th St shelter 3 hours a week since it's so close to my work. I go over twice a week on my lunch hour and once a week after work to help walk/play with dogs and help with minor cleanup as needed. I was unsure at first if it would be a burden or sad to be around shelter dogs, but it's exactly the opposite! Stray Rescue = Lifesavers

Stray Rescue is a group of lifesavers. They hold many events to raise awareness and find people to adopt and foster dogs and cats. I adopted a puppy from them in Feb 2007 and he is an enormous blessing to my life. I want to help Stray Rescue so others can be blessed like I was by one of their miraculous gifts of life. Playtime with Schrader

Ozzie got to play with my good friend Tricia's little 15lb rat terrier Schrader this past weekend - the 2 romped around her house for about 2 hours and had a great time! Schrader is about a month younger than Ozzie, but Ozzie outweighs him by about 60lbs! They didn't care though - Ozzie adapted his play style to match the little guy, and Schrader didn't hesitate to put his full effort into wrestling with Ozzie and attacking him with those little front feet! Playtime with Shadow

We visited family for a few days, and Ozzie got to spend alot of time in the backyard playing with their golden retriever Shadow, who is about 6 months older than Ozzie. We also went on walks around the neighborhood and at a park with both dogs. They had such a great time together. We wish we lived closer so these dogs could play more often than just 3-4 times a year.
