Although the cats and dogs and I walk the ravine every day, they never seem to get tired of it. The cats explore while the dogs sniff out the smells of deer, racoons, and whatever else might have walked through the area. Those kids! read more

While on our morning walk around our property and through the ravine, two of our dogs, Shorty and Maggie, alerted on a mysterious smell. I couldn't see anything except a large fallen tree limb, so I went over to see what they were investigating. It was a dead racoon. Poor thing! read more

When we first moved to the country, our little Welsh Corgi/Jack Russel Terrier mix, Shorty, would go out in the pasture and snif around the standing clump grass. Ever since Shorty was a puppy, he has always enjoyed a game of tug-o-war with a bungee cord. When he wants to play, he will bring the bungee to me and lay it at my feet.
