When we had grass

We have been experiencing a long drought here in south Texas for quite a while already. It was really nice when we had grass in the pasture for the horses to graze. What the drought didn't kill, the winter freezes torture. It brings to mind an old saying, "You don't know what you've got until you lose it." Sure wish we had grass. read more

I have discovered that I really enjoy riding the horses with a bareback pad instead of a saddle. I feel more of the horse's movements, and the horse can feel mine. Hmmmm! I wonder the horses think! read more

Today, while the horses were eating their supper, we put out a new round bale of hay. We placed it in a new location and wondered how long it would take the horses to notice it.
