What kind of cat is this?

What kind of cat eats with his paws? He gets a bite at a time from his food bowl with his paw and eats it right out of his paw. He disdains to stick his head down into the food bowl lke a common cat to eat. What kind of cat plays with his water? He splashes the water from his self-watering bowl just to watch it run down into the nearby floor drain in the basement floor. How to catch a Smokey

1. Make sure the hallway/runway is free of obstacles. 2. Wait until Smokey is on his daily rampage. 3. Hide just inside a doorway halfway down the hall. 4. Wait for sound of approaching Smokey rampage. 5. Jump out and grab Smokey. 6. Explain to Amy that THAT is how you catch a cat. 7. Carefully wash wounds with warm water and soap. read more

Another milestone in Smokey and Amy's relationship

Today, Smokey made his first calculated pounce on Amy (that I know of). Amy was just laying there, watching me putter around fixing breakfast, and Smokey kind of sidled by me looking at Amy sideways, and when he got a couple feet away, he turned suddenly and pounced on Amy's face. It was so funny, he was wrapped around Amy's muzzle like the baby aliens in the movie, just hung there for a second, then dropped off and walked away like nothing had happened. We did it!

I'm so elated the contest is over, and we stayed in the top 20 (14th at the finish, though the validation process is bound to shift the rankings a little). And I'm glad to see that Parkersburg ended 18th, hope they don't drop any during validation. That is actually very newsworthy, and I submitted a news item online to The Parkersburg News & Sentinel and The Marietta Times.
