Welcome to the family, Tippy!

Yesterday after the ZooToo visit, I heard someone say that the numerous puppies currently in the shelter would not all make it out, and I had a premonition that the one I had seen and liked would not make it out unless I took him home. So I gave in to an urge and took home a delightful little puppy that was begging for a home. Entering the home stretch

Four days and counting, HSOV was back down to 14th yesterday, and is back up to 12th again today! I won't start celebrating early, but we're sitting pretty good going into the home stretch. On my way up to the shelter today for some volunteer time, I saw a sign at the WalMart/Lowe's shopping plaza for a new pet store. Wouldn't it be sweet to have an Adopt-A-Thon right in front of that store and urge people to adopt instead of supporting puppy mills? I walked the swe… read more

First cat, thanks HSOV!

I recently started volunteering at the Marietta HSOV shelter, and on my first day there I was folding papers in the incoming room because the regular newspaper folding room is out in the receiving room and it was a very cold day out there (no heat in the receiving room).
