Ben was in the crate for 15 minutes before I left the room. After 4 minutes, he started a very low grade whine. After 10 minutes, he hadn't escalated. I went back into the room and let him out after another 10 minutes passed. He was relatively calm upon coming out. read more

2 crate trainings again today. The first one was smooth. Ben seemed restful and didn't whine too much. The second was early in the evening and I filmed it. Ben was in the crate for 5 minutes, and then I left the house and drove away in my car for 5 minutes. Ben had 2 practice sessions in the crate today. The first was this morning while I was doing homework. All was the same as 11/2, except that he didn't escalate as quickly when I left the room. The second training was noisier. Ben did a low grade whine for 15 minutes and raised the decible a notch after that. He was in the crate for 35 minutes. read more

Talked to the trainer who said regress a little bit, we may have took too much of a leap. Today, I was the only one home and directed Ben to his crate. He was reluctant, but went in. We moved the crate to upstairs and put a nice fresh bone in it. When directed in, Ben didn't notice the bone right away, but became interested 5 minutes later.
