I got involved in this contest about two months ago when the West Plains Regional Animal Shelter was way down on the list. I am so proud of everyone who has worked so hard to enable us to finish No. 17. We are a community of only around 11,000 people, but we have a wonderfully compassionate,no-kill shelter that serves our Ozarks region of Missouri and Arkansas.
