Day at the Beach

Brought the puppies to the beach for the first time. Ammo the older dog is part fish I think. She swims and dives and just has a ball. Cammy and Nitro just turned a year old and are not too sure. It was kind of wavy and Nitro wanted nothing more to do with it after she got a wave in the face. Cammy was ok as long as her feet touched the bottom. Maybe they will be better on a calm day. The puppies

I won't be able to call Cammy and Nitro The Puppies much longer. They'll be a year old soon (June). It seems like yesterday I saw them on the news being dumped out of a carrier at the city shelter. That was on a wed. and I had them home by Fri. They were only 6 weeks old. Ammo was not to sure about them. I think she kept wondering when they were going to go back. Ahh Spring

Spring is here (finally) and so is the mud. My puppies are loving it. They get to romp and play for hours, and boy are they mudballs. Thank goodness they have very short hair. My husband bought a soft rubber curry brush and that does a great job getting off the dried mud. The good thing is how tired they are at the end of the day. Many of the people there had pets when they lived at home. They often have pictures of them and they tell me all about them and how much they miss them. It's not hard to do. Six rescued pets

My dog Bullet was my saddest rescue. She was taken to the city shelter , and then to a vet hospital where I worked. She had been shot twice through the chest. It shattered her right fore leg so badly she had an external fixeter on her leg for 14 weeks. As she lay in her kennel at the vets her tail never stopped wagging at anyone who came near her.
