Bute is a really good pain reliever for horses. We usually use it in IV form instead of the tablet form. The problem you get with tablet form, is that it can irritate the stomach sometimes. If you have to give Bute a in high dosages or for long periods of time, I would try to IV form instead of oral tablets.
