Must be limited in use to where a horse CANNOT reach. An inquisitive Arab 'somehow' got his bottom jaw into the horseshoe latch on his stall at night and it got stuck. He paniced and his owner found him the next morning in horrible conditon with a broken bottom jaw. They got him to a University Vet Clinic but the jaw was shattered and unrepairable.
The horse had to be put-down. The owners were devastated to say the least.
These stall latches are sold in some of the more upscaled catalogs and stores.
They are great latches but NOT EVER where a horse can reach them.
Happy Trails.
