If your pet is suffering from back pain, the condition will most commonly present as a hunched back, meaning that your pet’s back and neck seem arched, and your pet seems to be in a “guarded” position. Your pet’s neck may also be sore to your touch, and your pet may be less active. Other symptoms of back pain may include vomiting, rigid muscles, or fever. If you suspect that your pet is suffering from back pain, your vet can help to determine the underlying cause in order to treat appropriately. In some cases, acupuncture might help.
