Anaphylaxis occurs when your pet has had a severe allergic reaction to an allergen, such as a bee sting. This condition is most commonly characterized by labored, distressed breathing, and can also be characterized by unsteady walking, loss of bowel and urinary control, swelling or excessive drooling, or itching skin. If you suspect that your pet is suffering from a severe allergic reaction, you should consider this an emergency and seek veterinary help immediately, as anaphylaxis can be fatal.
