First off, I have been grooming at Petsmart for 5 years. I truly think it is my dream job! At no other grooming facility in the area are there more procedures and policies to follow for the benefit of each and every pet that is brought in. Each individual pet is cared for and treated with dignity. We treat all as if they are our own personal pet.
They are monitored, by our staff and Store managers frequently. If at any time at all they seem distressed or sick they are immediately cared for by in house vet and parents are called. We take this all very seriously. Each and every one of us love dogs so very much. I know personally that it is so rewarding to improve a dogs look and make them and the pet parents feel awesome. You can actually see their tails waggin when they are told how pretty or handsome they look. I enjoy being able to help people with advice to improve their pets appearance, overall grooming tips and how to care for them properly. Sometimes its a families first pet and they have no idea what to do. It brings me joy to help out in this way. It also doesn't hurt to be able to see these little beautiful faces on my table daily...you can't help but smile in a dogs presence. I personally would like to know that wherever my pet goes to be groomed....they are treated well and there are people there that are trained and go to school for this purpose. Not every groomer out there can say that they have been certified to do this. So make sure and ask a persons experience and where they have trained. We don't just walk in and start grooming...it is a long process and they make sure each and every one of us are knowledgable. Anyone can handle a pair of clippers....but would you want just ANYONE grooming your most cherished pet? And Remember....just because someplaces are cheaper than Petsmart doesn't mean you are getting a great deal. You get what you pay for.
