I have a Maine Coon that is a bit OCD about bathing so she often ends up with "mats". I attempt to keep up with her grooming at home but it just ends up with us BOTH being grumpy. I take her to Petsmart on an average of every 3 months and each time when I pick her up she gets a good report and they say she lies back and enjoys the attention. I have always been satisfied with the job they do and it's convenient and affordable!
