Rabies Verification

I recently went into PetCo. to get my dog's nails clipped. They asked if I had ever been there and I said, "Yes, around the holidays." The groomer asked if I had verification that my dog had her rabies shot. I told them she has her tag that's dated 2007. The groomer then tells me that she cannot clip my dog's nails because she doesn't have a 2008 rabies tag. Now mind you, this was the beginning of February that I was there. The groomers continues telling me that they need to know the exact date of when he rabies shot will 'expire'. I tried explaining to her that rabies shots are good for 3 years, so unless my dog had a 2005 tag, there really should be no need for exact documentation. The groomer continued to tell me that this is their policy and that I would have to get a note from my vet with the date.

This groomer was extremely unhelpful and was rude to me during our conversation. She was unwilling to explain to me why a 2007 tag would not do.

I will never got back to PetCo. for grooming after this incident!

I took my dog to PetsMart who was willing wo clip her nails for me with no problem about her rabies shot.
