Hi Neighbors! My name is Liz Burks a proud volunteer at the Central Mo. Humane Society in Columbia, Mo. First of all I would like to congratulate you on your winnings! What an incredible opportunity Zootoo has provided for shelters across America. I absolutely love your website, what inspirational stories you share. Randy and volunteers do such amazing work with the animals!! You are all awesome, no wonder you stole the hearts of Zootoo and others!
Our shelter is in the running this year! The contest is a little different, in the fact that the winner will be determined solely by votes accumulated on the site by registered users. Our shelter did not enter the contest until the middle of January this year. My daughter and a friend of hers found out about the contest in the back of a dog magazine. They first logged on Jan. 15th, and in less than 2 months rallied our community together, over 10,000 members to support our shelter by logging onto Zootoo. Today we are anxiously awaiting for the April 7th announcement of which 10 shelters have been chosen out of the top 20 to advance to the final phase of the competition. That will take place April 13th-19th where registered users can vote 10 times a day for 6 days for their shelter of choice. We would love to have the support of St. Louis! There are several other shelters from larger cities that could out number us. We must get support from surrounding communities in Mo. o have a chance.
