Picking up bunny and trimming nails. Please help!

Ok well, I just attempted to trim my bunnies nails. Was not able to at all. I can't get the bunnies to stay still at all. They will sit in my lap if I give them lettuce or something like that. And they will let me pet them. But as soon as I try to lift one of there toes to trim they jump out of my lap. I can not hold them either. I tried to hold the rabbits like I have seen experts do it on videos but is not working. I don't understand why I have seen so many people being able to hold their bunnies in their arms like babies or even in their laps upside down on their backs. Any tips. I guess I am doing it all wrong. I really would like to trim their nails. I have other pets cats etc.. and I like to trim their nails every 2 weeks. The bunnies scratch the heck out of me. Please help!

I agree with Kendall by using 2 people. I have only had a rabbit since May so I'm new at this as well. I've trimmed his nails a few times and I hold him between my legs on his back with his head in the direction of my feet. Then I spread his toes with my fingers and my sister trims them. He jumps sometimes but he loves being held.

first u should proubley let ur rabbits getting use to being held. when i trip my rabbits nails i hold them upside now and use a cat clipper to clip. u want to make sure not to clip past the red. with some of my rabbits i use 2 people. my dad holds the rabbit and i clip
