Unexpected loss

My Alex was 9 years old and seemed to be inperfect health, when one morning I woke to my husband frantically calling his name. I looked down at the floor in front of the bed and there was Alex...gone. He was already cold and rigamortis. He was laying like he was just sleeping. We had just brought him to the vet for a check up a couple of months before and he was in great shape. When we called the vet and brought him in they were just as shocked as we were. They did the autopsy free of charge because they wanted to kinow what happened as bad as we did. All they ended up finding was that nothing was wrong with him and told us that it had to have been a massive stroke. I'm thankful he never suffered but it happened so fast we never got to say goodbye. That was 4 years ago now and it still hurts.
