MN Herpetological Society

March 30, 2008 | By Twinkq

We meet the first Friday of every month at the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. We have a speaker come to talk about something relating to reptiles and amphibians - and we get speakers from all over the country (Kathy Love is coming in October!). We have a very active adoption program, taking in most of the herps that are surrendered to animal control or shelters in the Twin Cities metro area, and adopting them out within our membership. We attend many events year-round to help educate people about reptiles and amphibians (schools, nature centers, corporate events, Pet Expo, MN Renaissance Festival), which gives us a chance to show off our critters. We have many members that are working on conservation efforts and research, and we set aside some group funds to help support these and other similar efforts.

Meetings are open to the public - check out our website at www.mnherpsoc.org for more details.
