Can she do that????

So, I mentioned the woman who cornered me at the funeral wanting to know where her horse was. She was charged with 51 counts of animal cruelty and got 2 yrs probation. She voluntarily gave up her horses that they did not seize. They found dead foals on her property and the conditions were deplorable. She just filed suit with the state and town to get all of her horses back. Can she do that? Is that something that this woman may win? I'm disgusted. She should not own animals after what she did. Never mind actually get these horses back. They were all thin, starving, no water. They took horses, sheep and dogs. Is there anything that can be done?
