Animal Abuse Case - North Charleston SC

January 25, 2009 | By BradleyJenkins | 7 comments

35 Lb Survivor that should be 50+ Lbs

I found this article in the newspaper - authorities found a dead dog and a barely alive dog chained in someone's backyard for more than a week in freezing temperatures (yeah it gets cold at night in SC) The dog that survived weighed only 30 lbs, it is an 8 year old lab mix that should weight more than 50 lbs. Authorities are investigating and say the man responsible can face up to 30 days in prison for each abuse case. Don't you think this is too leniant?! He left these dogs in a backyard, chained, for at least a week with no food, water and shelter. This is sick. If you live in the area, support the cause and the local shelter caring for this dog!

Not only is he absolutely a waist of a human, but he can also be a danger to people. Studies have shown that people who are cruel to animals, are often likely to be violent individuals. There is no excuse for someone who treated an animal so terribly to only have 30 days of jail. The death of an innocent animal was the result of his sociopathic behaviors. There is not way he has a conscience. When are people going to be held accountable for sick behavior and irresponsibility. I feel dogs, or any animals, should not be valued any less than we value ourselves.

This is just not right. 30 days, that is outrageous. This man should never be able to own an animal of any kind and I think they should be made to register with the authorties where ever they move, just like a sex offender does
