there is no love like a rescued animals

that was him the first day we got him

tell me some stories of your rescued animals I know they will be mostly of the animal rescuing us but lets hear them :) the pic I added is of scruffy I got him from a lady that had him under a ad in the penny saver under items like he was a toy she got sick of playing with went to see him and he was in a cage almost as small as him matted so bad and walking on his nails I just had to have him he was bigger then what she said he was but I just could not leave him there she told me he has been in a cage for 3 years only let out to pee what? I told her he is mine and she told me well I have a few more people coming next week to see him and then I will make a choose I told her no he is coming with me now well after telling her I would call the cops she gave him to me and let me tell you when I took him out the cage he was shaking but after I walked him to my mom's car he was so happy I could not hold him he was jumping kissing me and was just so happy and from that point on he saved me he is the best dog he goes where I go if I have to leave him he cries until I get home he is my baby and that lady missed out on a great dog her lose my gain and no amount of money could take us apart it is just sad he is 8 years ild and had to put up with this for that long the lady that had him before her was 96 years old when she got him and she was bed ridden and could not take care of him so that was his life before now it is great with love and hugs and kisses and all the love in the world

Raven came to our zoo in 2004. She was in the prison rehab program and we waited for our "cell dog" to be released. She is a wonderful companion and tries to do whatever is asked of her. We both had breast cancer and I gave a speech at a local fund raiser regarding early detection. We proudly wear our pink shirts and hope to be best friends for a long time.

All my pets are rescued from a shelter, including my birds. Check my zoo profile for all pictures. Lenny tho however had to be put to sleep after we had him for 5 months. The 1st shelter he was in had tested him for heartworm and was positive and they were going to put him to sleep , so the 2nd shelter took him, tested him and they said it was negative. After we took him to our vet, he said he wasnt due to be tested so we thought nothing more. He ended up with coughs and coughing , so he was back and forth to the vet. On the 5th month Lenny became worse and finally the vet did a heartworn test and it was positive. He ended up with it in his lungs and most organs, we took him to purdue and nothing could be done about it without him suffering so we had to put him to sleep, which was the hardest decision I have ever made. We loved him and miss him a lot. After a couple of weeks we got chico, to try help take away the pain. We still miss Lenny a lot.
