Get the first meeting going!
So far, the Harmar Tavern is the only proposed meeting spot, and two or three date/times are available (Tues. evening 4/8 @7 PM, Saturday or Sunday afternoon 4/5 - 4/6 @ 2 or 3 PM). Everyone please post here or email the group with preferred meeting date/time.
First order of business is to gather contact info (full name, address, email, phone) and special skills or talents we might need. Then we'll need to decide if we want a full-blown public event for our first effort or if we should just ease in with a private celebration and consider expanding later on. Whatever we decide, we should be able to set a preliminary date and place for the event and start establishing the requirements and matching people with some duties.
This is just an initial take on the matter, hopefully everyone will be thinking about this, and have some input on our direction.
Also, let me say up front, I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, if someone more senior in the ZooToo or shelter volunteer group wants to head up this effort, I'm OK with that. I'm not trying to make a power grab or be bossy or anything, I just have an abundance of ideas and have difficulty containing them! So, I'd welcome input on that aspect, also.

Hi John- I just wanted to throw a thought out there to y'all- maybe you want to consider having the event in conjunction with when the Zootoo staff are coming to view the shelter. To show them the support that has been rallied for the shelter by all of this. Just an idea.
