So... can we make Sunday the best votes day yet?

I wish Zootoo would show the vote results each night as it did with points during Phase I.

On Friday, we were in 4th place. In this contest, 4th place is the 1st loser. I hate to say it; hate to think it; but it's frustrating to put so much effort into something over such a long period of time to be the 1st loser.

Are we the first losers?

The problem is - I'm posting this to our group, which is about 10% of our total affiliate base. Of that, I would say about 25% actually read these. As Bonnie said in a previous post - I'm preaching to the choir. Heck - most of the folks that read this have been involved since Phase I, helping us earn points, and now voting like crazy. I would say that about 10% of our affiliates are actually giving 100%.

The problem is reaching the other large % of affiliates and getting them to vote, vote, vote.

I don't understand how folks can take the time to register, but not take 5 minutes a day to vote for us.

It's been quite a journey. I hate to concede defeat, but there's only so much you can do.

On the bright side, however, our shelter has had a quite a spotlight shown on it for the past few weeks. Lots of people are more aware that we exist, and constantly need help.

To everyone that has taken the time and put forth the effort to get us where we are today - I want to thank you. Your efforts have not gone un-noticed. It's not the points, or the votes, or any special recognition. At the end of the day, I would say our shelter is better off from your efforts, and that's the greatest sum of all of our efforts. If the life of one stray was bettered from this contest, than it was well worth it. I feel, though, that it could potentially turn into hundreds, perhaps even thousands of lives.

But - hey - as Dennis said - it's not over till the fat shelter manager sings. I don't think he's ready to sing yet. I'm going to remind as many people as possible to vote for what little time is left tonight, and tomorrow. I'm going to re-post on Craigslist, re-post on Facebook, re-post in online forums, keep plugging away. Again - one big day could make a tremendous difference! I ask that you do the same - let's go down swinging!

There are NO LOSERS! I know that it is frustrating that some affiliates may not have participated enough, but it is very hard to get information out to them.

I am still very hopeful in this contest at 11:15pm on Sunday, but the truth is that animals all across America have won. Shelters have gotten more donations, more volunteers and a sense that they are not fighting the rescue battle alone. We all need that inspiration every day.

Our members on Zootoo and everyone who has worked so hard on behalf of our shelter has added a sense of support that is always needed at the shelter. I thank you all for your dedication and hard work. Who would have thought in the beginning that the 'little shelter that could' would be the only shelter in Florida to reach such heights?

so true, but the loser thing got me. We tried, some of us tried harder than others. IF we dont make it this yr then we will know better ways for the next time. :)
