Hermit Crabs holding claws

June 23, 2009 | By Heartlyn | 4 comments

Ok, so I'm new to owning Hermit Crabs, and new to this group, and I have a question. I recently found our 2 crabbies holding claws and refusing to let go until I sprayed a little mist on them. Any idea what they were doing? I cannot find the answer anywhere on the web, and I need to know if I have to separate them or if I have to be looking forward to little ones running around in a few weeks to months. Please help lol.

you wont have to worry about baby hermit crabs because hermit crabs do NOT mate in captivity but otherwise i dont know why they were holding claw. And i reapeat, they do NOT mate in captiviy.
