scratches his butt?

I have a cockatiel that loves to scratch his butt on his swing and chirp. Has anyone else had this? This is my second tiel that has done this, and I just find it really wierd.

I thought that would be the case; I just had never heard about this before and didn't know how common it was.

How can I put this delicately....it sounds like he is pretending the swing is his girlfriend. I had a male cockatiel that did this all the time and I thought there might be something wrong so I called my vet and that is the answer I received.
