HELP-my cockatiel laid an egg!

I recommend leaving the eggs until she completely ignores them. As Lisa said, they will frequently try to replace the missing eggs and will lay eggs nonstop until they are sick. My bird was a chronic egg layer and became ill. We were eventually able to stop her behavior and she recovered. Cockatiels also are prone to becoming egg-bound which means that the egg will not come out. If you ever see your bird acting like she wants to lay an egg (having a belly bulge and squatting) but no egg comes out, you need to consult a vet at once without delay! The egg can break inside and your bird can become infected and very, very ill. I don't wish to scare you but want you to be aware what can happen with female cockatiels.
