Zootoo and You!
**I sent this out to my volunteer listserve, and thought that it was fitting to share it with the zootoo world as well.**
First, I would like to take a second and thank you all so much for your hard work. Your dedication to our shelter, to our mission and to one another, is incredible and inspiring. It is thanks to all of us, that we will only be able to save more lives, assist more citizens and continue to provide a safe and loving environment for our communities unwanted and homeless animals.
During our press conference this morning, Patty and our Board stressed the importance of understanding that we will not be sent a million dollar check from zootoo.com. All monies, goods and services from zootoo.com will be gifted to CMHS for the makeover only. This makeover still does not secure our shelter's financial future or our operating costs. Now more than ever we will need financial support to keep our doors open!
CMHS is kicking off Operation:Zootoo, a two-part challenge to makeover the Central Missouri Humane Society and establish operational support from the community. If every zootooer were to donate $100.00, we would have another million in the bank. It may sound overwhelming but it is doable.
CMHS is holding a town hall meeting on May 12, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our community to share ideas with CMHS for the next stages of this makeover. The location is TBD. Stay tuned!
As always, volunteer, volunteer, volunteer.
Again, I thank you all so much for your hard work. I am thrilled to be part of this new journey for CMHS.
(About that $100. Ever thought about having a bake sale or garage sale in our honor? What about skipping out on your morning Starbucks run and sending the dollars to our dogs? Do whatever you can- - - whenever you can to help us, help our animals. )

Re: the $100 donations, I have some ideas about that and would love to talk to you guys. Who's in charge of development & your capital campaigns? Let me know!
