OPERATION BEANIE RESCUE NEEDS KENNELS!

November 15, 2009 | By Jennifer R.

Hi Zootoo Friends!
Today I am launching a special local project meant to rescue all of the unloved Beanie Babies of Columbia and help them find their way to little loving hands in Afghanistan and Iraq. With the help of www.operationgive.com all of our shipping is covered, all the way to the soldier's backpacks! The peaceful connection that these soft lovies allow the soldiers to make with the children and their parents is worth more than that beanie will ever bring anyone on Ebay. Now for the logistics - we need to BORROW a few dozen animal carriers that will serve as collection bins throughout our city. That's right- you'll get your crate or kennel back in it's original condition. We will be decorating them for the holidays and putting them in schools, churches and businesses from November 23rd - December 15th. If you have a kennel you can be without for a few weeks, we'd be SO grateful! Just write your name with a sharpie on the bottom, along with your phone number, and drop it off at the new Artlandish Gallery at 1019 E. Walnut St. in downtown Columbia. Lisa is the owner and looks forward to seeing you and your animal carrier! If you're wondering about hours or can't bring it during regular business hours, just send me a note and we'll make arrangements to get it from you. If you'd like to DONATE your carrier (you don't want it back), just write DONATE on the bottom and it will find it's way to a REAL animal rescue group in mid-MO after our project concludes. Carriers need not be in good condition - just clean. For more info visit: www.beanierescue.com or email me at jen@moonshadowstudio.com. Thanks ZOOTOO friends!!
