I would say yes it is because he has black fur but I can't say that it's true.I would say that it's true because the cats's fur would act as a colat for the cat and since he has black fur the sun will keep him warmfor a couple hours and being in the sun all day would keep him warm, my cat also used to do that.

MY 2 CATS FIGHT OVER THE BEST SUN SPOT COMING IN FROM THE PATIO DOOR. ITS HILARIOUS! IT ALSO SEEMS LIKE THEY ABSORB ENERGY FROM IT TOO. DURING THE WINTER WE HAD ALL LIGHT BLOCKED OUT TO KEEP HEAT IN AND THEY WERE SO LAZY AND DEPRESSED, NOW THAT THE SUN IS BEING LET IN, THEY ARE MY SPUNKY BABIES AGAIN! OH YEAH AND CATS ARE PRETTY DARN SMART SO IM SURE IF THEY WERE IN ANY DANGER THEY WOULD IMMEDIATELY FIX THE SITUATION.
