Setting up for a tort outdoors

My little cutie

I am a new tortoise owner, and I LOVE THEM!!! I got a captive bred russian about 2 months ago, and have since joined the California Turtle and Tortoise Club. I am interested in adopting a large tort for our acre. Does anyone have a big guy outside, if so how do you deal with temp and weather changes? What other things should I know?

my tortoise is to big to take outside by myself but I have friends that put theirs outside for the summer and bring them in in the cooler weather and winters
