Update on Shana

July 29, 2009 | By phill C.

On July 16, Shana was in need of a second transfusion. We were not been able to find a suitable donor, but found a Blood Bank in Michagan that had the platletes she needed. They were shipped overnight for her transfusion this past Friday. Today Monday 7/28 Shana is not responding to the transfusion as well as her Vet would like. She is having a problem making her own platletes. A bio pharmaceutical company stepped up and is donating Immune Globulin Intravenous infusions. Not knowing if this will work, but being optimistic, we will attempt to see if it will stabilize Shana. Even with the generous donations from our friends at the pharmaceutical company, her vet bills continue to rise. We will not give up looking for resources to help Shana fight for her life. If you or anyone you know can find it in your heart to help her, it would be greatly appreciated.
