Separation anxiety?

September 14, 2008 | By Sandra F. | 6 comments

I left Teddy with my daughter for a day and a half because I had to go out of town for a seminar. By the time I returned, Teddy was vomiting and had diarrhea and by the way he acted toward me, he was a bit miffed when I picked him up. Within a very short time of being home, the vomiting a diarrhea stopped. Have any of you experienced this? He is my first pom and my first rescued dog. Are poms this sensitive or do you think this is due to the neglect he experienced in the past?

Our first Pom chewed his hair when we left him alone and it caused stomach and digestive upset like you described. He is not a rescue pom, but they are definitely needy for attention. We solved his big problem by getting another pom.
