hi my name is kathy hart and i just brought a pomeranian puppy and like to know
how many different pomeranian s are there my daughter is saying that coco is not a pomeranian that coco is to big to be a pomeranian please help thankyou very much

hi i just brought her 2 months ago and paid 1500 dollars she only 4 months old and i love her to death she is sweet i m just concerned because my oldest daughter is saying that i got screwed and that coco is not a pomeranian so i went back to the store where i got her from and they assured me she is what her papers say that she is a pom i can maybe you can help me out i can scan the certificate of pedigree and the breeder s information and send it to you ty if you can let me know kathy

Well there is only one official pomeranian breed. Now with that said the AKC standard for a pomerainian is 3-6 pounds. It is not uncommon for them to be a little above that and I have seen them MUCH above that. The biggest problem with poms is their popularity. The more popular a breed gets the worse it is for the dogs because puppy mills and backyard breeders and everyone that happens to have a boy and a girl decide they should breed and make some money.
Most learn that to keep happy healthy dogs and have puppies you dont make money. So those obsessed with making money dont take the precautions and care enough to research health and breed characteristics. So you many very well have a pom that is just oversized.
While he might not be exactly what you were picturing im sure it makes him no less a loving sweet companion.
