My previous dog was a collie mix. He was my best friend and I will always miss and love him. However, every night around 8 o'clock, he would become super protective of me and aggressive to others. He died when he was almost 15 years old and we never solved this problem. He would growl at family members and want them in their place before he could fall asleep. I just found it so odd, that all this happened at night and not in the day. I guess a crate would work for you. It wasn't anything I was going to do. The thing is, everyone misses him so much. We just worked around it.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! My baby girl doesn't mind sleeping in her crate, and when she gets "crooked ears" and sleepy face, she is put to bed. She's been great for awhile now, but a couple times a year is when she gets aggressive. It has definitely lessened as she's gotten older, but it was something I always wondered about, and wanted to know if there was something I wasn't doing, or maybe doing incorrectly.
I liked the comments about Cesar Milan. I have thought about it, believe me :) However, I think most of the people on his show are oblivious morons, and I know I'm not, so he wouldn't pick me :)
