discrimination--YUK!!

I'm so ..... I don't even know!! I went & looked @ a house 2 rent 2 own, all went well then we had to call the prop. manager(it's in a trailer park), they asked about pets, we said 1 dog. Told them she's my hearing dog(I have lost 75% hearing-both ears), they then asked what kind of dog, we said a terrier, they wanted to know what kind, we said Staffordshire. They said "WE DO NOT TAKE THOSE" & hung up. Now what? We finally found a place after looking for 6 mos. I'm a student in college, & my boyfriend's an Army Vet. We're not bad people & niether is Rosie a bad dog. Is that disability discrimination, or what??

I have to agree with Rachel's comment. Do you really want to live somewhere where the landlord is that close minded? If he lets you in because you prove the dog is helping you with your disability, he's going to find every reason to make your life miserable. You might want to keep looking around. You might find something great. Good luck!

I would definitely check with the disability office. If you have a certified assistance dog then they can't discriminate against you. However, I'm not sure I would want to live somewhere that has that bias, unless you won't see the people everyday. You don't want them to cause you any problems even if they're not justified. Good luck!
