Bitting

March 9, 2009 | By LabradorLover1 | 5 comments

I have a 10 week old yellow lab. He is very energetic and playfull pupply like most other labs. He gets a regualr walk every mourning and then gets to run loose in the woods in the afternoons on walks. My family and I have had labs our hole lives. My problem is that When he is at home and you play with him he bites you uncontroliably you can't even pet him with out him bitting you. I have tried all kinds of techniques to get him to stop but no luck. He is very smart at 8 weeks we already had him trained to sit and and laydown. But we can't seem to break the biting people. Is there any help or is he just gonna grow out of it?

You could recruit the help of a good trainer - well worth the money.

When it comes to mouthy puppies it helps to have toys or a chewy on hand and when they go to bite you you put a toy or chewy in their mouths and let them go for it while praising him for playing with the toy. Rolling a ball for them to chase to interupt them biting also helps and wears off more energy.
