Golden Retrievers a very popular breed?

Apparently Goldens are the 4th most popular dog, according to AKC registration status (www.akc.org/reg/dogreg_stats.cfm). With the first being Labs, then Yorkies then German shepherds.

I didn't know they were so popular! But, with their lovable personality and gorgeous appearance, it's easy to believe.
