CHIHUAHUA WITH BLUISH GUMS

I have appllied to adopt 3 dogs, one of which is a CHIHUAHUA. She is 2 yo, grey, and has purple bluish gums. Other than to conclude a heart disease, etc. I was hoping that someone might have a dog with gums that are not pink. I am aware that the CHOW has dark gums but cannot find any similar facts about other smaller breeds.I was unable to visualize the under eyelid tissue but noticed "slight" bloodshot eyes. I was wondering if it could be simply the color of her gums or stress related depleting the O2. You see, the dogs are not allowed to be handles for their safety. We were able to convince the tech to let us hold her (after wahing our hands of course) and wondered if that in itself migh have contributed to the gum coloring issue. Also, I have never seen a greay chihuahua!

Hi, I have never seen a grey chihuahua either, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. She looks like she may have some mix but my bby has varied colors in his gums, from black to brown to pink and he is a pure bred. I think your vet may be able to supply you with more info. Good luck on your adoption, she looks like a sweetie. My little guy has a slight heart murmur which only developed last year and he is eightish and still very active, I'd never have known had I not had a very thorough vet at his annuals.
