Scratching Post

I want to build a scratching post using sisal and I'm hoping to glue the sisal to a PVC pipe mounted to a base. Does anyone have any experience with what type of glue should be used? Some of the commercial stuff can be hazardous. Thanks.

My cat was the sweetest cat ever until we went on vacation when he was a year old. For the next 4 years he hated people. He still hates people. He only likes one person. Why did this happen??? Is there a way to fix this??
