cockatiel night thrashing

since i know cockatiels are famous for this how do others deal with it. i have to get up when they wake me and turn on the lights till they settle back down and turn them back out and try to go back to sleep.you can't just let them thrash till they break a wing or their necks

Hi!

I always cover my birds at night. That let them know is time to sleep, and stop singing. I cover the front and the sides, and leave the back uncover. I also leave a small corner, so they can peak if they still hear us...

me again that was the reason i posted this because i am afraind one day if i don't wake up fast enough something will happen to them. relly all your sugestions are great and make a lot of sense. but they are senior citizens and don't take to change very well. oh well nither do i
