Got any tips on getting my beagle to come?

i have had to use a halter to teach my buster his lessons it seems to help him keep on task so now when he has his halter on he knows it is time to pay attention. i hope this helps

I put in two cable runs for my new Beagles...one is 100 foot and the other 200 foot long (dog trolleys if you prefer) made from hardware store components, not the cheap ones you can buy premade for dogs. The two of them come when I use the term "gravytrain" since I use that when it is time to eat. But Clyde will come when called usually, Bonnie is still reluctant sometimes, but she will come to her name when my fiance calls her. Definately you want a fenced in yard, a cable run or dog kennel run for your beagles, they will wander off on you following their nose, and they may not come back. Also I would recommend getting them microchipped as well, in case they do take off you can be contacted then to come and get them out of jail. The best bet though as I mentioned above, definately a fence or cable run. I use the game fetch too and use their names when they return the object to me, this reinforces them to come to you when called by name.
