Good to have, but you will need a separate test kit for ammonia

Anyone who has a fish tank needs to have a test kit for their water. You should test weekly, but testing the water is also one of the first things you should do if you suspect a problem with the fish ~ water quality can have an adverse effect on their health and well being and can often times be the cause of illness. This kit is super easy to use and isnt bulky and wont take up alot of space. All the strips come in a little can and you just take one strip out and do a quick dip in the water and then compare the colors with the color guide that comes with the kit. Within 1 minute you will know where you stand with water quality. The only test this kit doesnt come with and should have included is the ammonia test, which you need to have and must purchase separately. Sometimes, all other readings will register within acceptable levels while an ammonia spike is going on, which can be deadly to your fish. This can happen in a fully cycled tank as well as new tanks and can happen at anytime for any reason such as over feeding or over stocked tanks. Do yourself and your tank a favor ~ get this test kit and the ammonia one too
