Good history, so-so care section
Pros: Awesome pics, great finnage explination
Cons: Some of the take sizes seem to small.

I love the pictures in this book! Beautiful!
The history & explanation of types of bettas based on finnage is excellent.
My only issue is in the care section- it says a quart of water needs to be changes once a week. I have 2 problems with that: 1) You shouldn't be keeping any fish in only a quart of water. That's about 1 FULL store-display cup. They'll survive, yes, but will not thrive. 2) In that circumstance, that water should be changed DAILY. 1 gal tanks are generally changed every 3-4 days before the ammonia content gets to high.
Most beginners won't need to use the information in the breeding chapter, but it is interesting reading.
My only suggestion would to not let this be the only resource on betta care. There's so much info on the internet that is often tested by serious people in the Betta hobby.
