Review Details
WE got this for our first betta fish we ever owned. I'm not an experienced fish owner so we are starting slow. We've had bluey for over a month and he looks great. We feed about 4 pellets 3 times a day and he really gets excited when he sees us get the food container. We have the small package which has a dispenser thing, but I find it is sometimes a hassle to use. Either too many pellets or not enough come out, or they get stuck at the edge of the opening where you cut it.
Anyways, the pellets are very small and they float. We let our 2 yr old daughter feed Bluey to help her with the fine motor skills. We shake the food out on the counter and she picks up and feeds him one pellet at a time through the grill openings on the top of his tank.
So far he looks and seems healthy. I do 50% water changes at least twice a week and use a turkey baster for sucking out the poop. The baster is exclusively used for his poop, not cooking! The water hasn't ever clouded either.
