Lamorinda Disaster Animal Response Team

Lamorinda DART (www.LamorindaDART.org/) is a subgroup of Lamorinda CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). When a disaster strikes and our area will be isolated from the rest of Contra Costa, perhaps for weeks, CERT will be our first responders.

Training people to set up animal shelters, taking care of the pets and if necessary do welfare checks and search and rescue makes a lot of sense.

As usual, these activities are unfunded even though the PETS Act requires that cities prepare to assist people and their animals.
