Garlic-Cheese Dog biscuits
1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup stick margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 to 4 garlic cloves, minced
Dash of salt
6 to 8 Tablespoons milk
In a mixing bowl, beat cheese & margarine. Add the flour, garlic and salt, mix well. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Cover & refrigerate for 30 minutes.
You can either roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with bone shaped cutter, or roll into a log and slice 1/4 inch thick slices.
Bake at 375 for 15 - 20 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove to wire racks, they will harden as they cool down
I don't have a dog, but I make these for other people's dogs and they love them. Very healthy, you KNOW what is in them and you can even eat them yourself. I have tried them, they really are good.
Of course these are delicious anytime, but these also make for a nice gift basket for your pooch, or make a batch to take to the shelter. Enjoy!
