Review Details

I first heard of this type of training collar when my father and I both took our dogs to an obedience school about ten years ago. The obedience school trainer really recommended that we use it because it provides a very gentle, and very effective correction for the dogs. It is a really innovative design. It does not take very much pressure for the dog to respond, so I feel much better about using it on the dogs than a choke collar. Yesterday, at the shelter in Ellensburg where I volunteer, one of the ACO's put this collar on Smokey, a HUGE lovable sweetheart of a pit bull, who has good intentions, but his massive size and incredible muscle mass can make him hard to handle. He has a tendency to just bowl people over because he is so strong and enthusiastic. (It took three volunteers to bathe him because he is so strong and his tail wagging was throwing everyone around, lol!) He responded so quickly to the Halti. It was pretty amazing. If it can work on someone as strong as Smokey without anyone having to give him harsh correction like wiith a choke collar, or raise their voice at him, I think it can work on any dog. I was really impressed with how it calmed him and the speed with which it worked. It was a much more pleasant way to train that I have ever encountered before. I loved what this collar did! I am a convert!!!
