Our dogs' favorite toy is an animal slipper. They will always choose this over any other toy. They last a really long time as long as you don't mind picking up all of the fluff. We find it's worth it. I'm not sure about giving them to puppies, when ours was younger she would try to eat the stuffing, now she just pulls it out and puts it aside. You have to watch for any buttons tho. Neither of our dogs chews our real slippers.
